People often talk of being motivated or commited to achieving a goal or outcome as though they are the same thing BUT here’s the thing – they aren’t - you don’t have to be motivated all the time in order to achieve – you do need to be committed to the actions you’ve set out.
This is easier to see when we think about our fitness goals rather than our business ones. We aren’t always motivated to go to the gym, out for a run etc, but if you’ve commited to a goal then you are more likely to get up and go. It is the same in business.

Motivation will fluctuate over time, influenced by various circumstances and external factors. If we were 100% motivated all the time we would burn out – it’s very tiring emotionally and physically! Commitment is more stable and resilient, enabling us to persevere through challenges and setbacks. While motivation may dwindle during difficult times, commitment acts as an anchor, ensuring we remain steadfast in our pursuit of business success.
